Warning: some of the answers may contain spoilers, so I wouldn't advise reading this page
until you've finished reading the book.

If you still have a question,
ASK and I shall answer.

Q: Hasn't it been done already? I mean the whole vampire/mortal forbidden love thing?

A: Here's the thing: of course it has. My hope is to bring something new to the table, and I hope to
accomplish this as the next two books in the series come out. I think you'll find that I'm going in a
direction you wouldn't expect. I know there are a lot of very popular vamp books out there, and sure,
you may find similarities between those and Ashes. What you have to remember is those similarities
were necessary evils that I had to write in order to set the stage -so to speak. I promise to do my best
to surprise all you readers out there withthe next two books.

Q: How is it that Cael and Sidney fall in love so fast?

A: The Readers Digest Version of that would be: They were magically drawn to one another. The longer
version is that everything happens for a reason. Liam and Cael weren't randomly chosen, Taran was
drawn to them by forces he had no control over, the same way Sidney was to Cael and vice versa.

Q. How is Cael pronounced?

A. It sounds like Kale, but I decided to go with the traditional Gaelic spelling.

Q. How did they know each others pasts?

A. I get this question quite a bit. The best way to describe it is because they're soul mates. It's another
thing that was set into place by the ancient vampire royalty. Let's use Rayna and Liam as examples.
When they first met, they weren't madly in love, but they were absolutely meant to be together,
drawn by magical forces. When they started to get to know each other they clicked, as soon as they
accepted their fate and fell in love their past was revealed to the other. Not by sight, but by feeling. So
Rayna automatically knew every time in Liam's life when he'd felt hurt, rejected, happy, angry. She
also had the ability to trace the feelings back to a certain date in time, allowing her to feel what Liam
was doing then and how he felt about it. Although doing so takes a lot of concentration. Sidney was
against the idea since she felt it was an invasion of privacy, and Cael didn't use the ability unless he
absolutely had to.
